Motivated by the personal rewards of being her own boss, entrepreneur Sarah took the plunge and founded Birubi Ltd, a company offering healthy and luxurious gluten-free snacks.
Sarah has launched the BTempted range, offering snacks and treats after she noticed a gap in the market for health conscious people wanting to avoid gluten.
Through methodical testing of her products, monitoring popularity and the demographics attracted to them, and utilising her people-centric approach, Sarah has built relationships with luxury retailers such as Harrods, Whole Foods Market and Fortnum & Mason. Birubi Ltd is now well-positioned to move forward and develop its product range and distribution strategy.
The Delivery Partner
In its early stages, Birubi Ltd was facing cash-flow problems, so Sarah turned to Start-Up Loan to gain finance to help her business grow. She was referred to her Delivery Partner GLE, and now benefits greatly from their mentoring support. With their help and the start-up loan, she is now able to meet the growing demand for her product, and even expanding her kitchen and developing new products.
Sarah’s advice on running a successful business is to, “Know your market, know yourself, and be honest with yourself. If you lack a skill find support to make up for it from a business partner or mentor.”
